Tropicana Community Services

Tropicana Community Services is a non-profit organization based in Toronto that provides a wide range of social services and programs to support Persons of Black heritage and people in need. It focuses on empowering individuals and families by offering resources that promote personal development, financial stability and community engagement.

Services Provided:

Education and Scholarship information, Employment and Career, Recreation, Childcare, Life Skills and Self Development, Camps, Social Services, Food Insecurity, and Resources. Visit the website for more information.

Youth Programs Offered:

Early Childhood Education - Tropicana Black-Fast Track

For Black youth 19+ who are interested in pursuing a career in the child care industry.

Job Development-Career Pathway Program

A 14-week training program for individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in the social service sector. Applicants must be 19+.

Steel Pan Lessons

Steel pan lessons are offered to anyone who wishes to learn. Lessons range from beginner to advanced. For ages 9-65+.

Together We Can Mentorship Program

This program is designed for Black, African and Caribbean youth aged 9-25. Youth are matched with an adult mentor.

Enhanced Youth Outreach Worker (EYOW) Program

One-on-one support and counselling for for high risk Black youth aged 12-25 .

Youth Job Connection - Summer (YJCS)

Provides support to high school students looking for a summer part-time job.

Youth Job Connection (YJC)

YJC is a paid pre-placement program that offers intensive support to youth 15-29 who face multiple challenges to employment.

Youth mentorship program

The Youth mentor program is culturally focused for Black youth aged 12-24.

Pre-apprenticeship Auto-Body & Collision Repair

A 30-week, tuition-free program funded by the government for youth aged 18-30.

Tutoring program

Online tutoring and in-person tutoring for ages 6-18.
