Durham Catholic District School Board (DCDSB)

The DCDSB offers a variety of free educational courses, career development, and employment training opportunities for adult learners 18+.

Services Provided:

Adult day credit course, Night School, Summer School, Dual Credit Program, Pathways to Healthcare, English as a Second Language (ESL) Employment Preparation & Training Programs for Credit. Programs are offered in Oshawa, Ajax, and Whitby. Courses are delivered in person and online. Youth Programs Offered:

PLAR (Prior Learning and Assessment Recognition)

PLAR enables mature students to earn credits from knowledge and skills acquired outside of formal educational settings.

Catholic Return Ticket

Alternative Education program for students in grades 7-12 who are on long-term suspension or expulsion. For more information, call 905-428-7161.

Centre for Success

The Centre for The Centre for Success program, situated at Durham College, enables students to fulfill their secondary school requirements in a supportive adult learning environment. Through this program, students can complete the necessary courses for graduation while participating in a dual credit program.

Reconnect

The Reconnect program caters to youth 16-17 years of age who are at risk of not graduating. These students are referred to the program by their home school. The program is located at Father Donald A. McLellan Catholic Secondary School in Ajax 905-666 1146.

Young Parent Support Program

Provides a supportive learning environment for young parents to study while working towards an OSSD.
