JFCY is a non-profit legal aid clinic that provides legal services to homeless and undocumented youth under the age of 18 and up to age 25 living in Ontario. Legal Services and select legal representation for youth facing issues within the Legal, Education, Social Services, and Education system.
Services Provided:
Legal assistance in the following areas: Tenant Rights/Tenant Representation, Ontario Disability Support Program(ODSP) Ontario Works (OW) Canada Pension Plan Disability (CPPD) Simple Wills and Estates, Immigration, Sexual Harassment in the Workplace, Legal Aid Certificate (DV) Intimate Partner Violence and Sexual Assault. Youth Programs Offered:
SYLS is an outreach drop-in program that provides a safe space for homeless and at-risk youth aged 16-24 to connect with a lawyer, and receive legal advice or representation. SYLS also provides education about the legal system. Drop-in centres are located across the city. Visit the website for times and locations.
Assists youth living in Ontario without stable immigration status. JCFY lawyers provide free and confidential legal services, while CASA staff offer support related to immigration pathways, connections to resources and access to education and healthcare services.
